What is a project space in the context of the Project Space Festival?
A project space is an independent art space with an ongoing public programme.
It is rooted in the visual arts but can have a multidisciplinary approach. A project space not only exhibits its own members but also collaborates with third parties. A project space provides an infrastructure for the artist community and allows experimental approaches within flat hierarchies. A project space does not take money from the artists it collaborates with.
What is a project initiative in the context of the Project Space Festival?
A project initiative functions like a project space without having a fixed location.
