Performance event in two spaces
Sangt Hipolyt
Bellermannstr. 79, 13357 Berlin-Wedding
Zyrland Zoiropa
Pankstr. 26, 13357 Berlin-Wedding
“Worm” is a dual venue performative event on Friday which takes place between the two neighbouring spaces Sangt Hipolyt and Zyrland Zoiropa in Berlin-Wedding. The program starts at either one of the spaces with readings/performances and can be combined with the readings/performances at the neighbouring space, which is within a ~15 min walking distance.
Zyrland Zoiropa is a project space which supports artists who work as part of the art handling / artist assistant / artist technician scene. The concept for the space was founded out of the realization that many practicing artists make money by working as assistants for other artists and as art handlers for galleries. Although these jobs and places of employment can be supportive for artists, they can also be detrimental for an artist's practice, in that they can borrow an artist's time, steal their skills and
destroy their spirit. ZZ is a space which supports this class of artist within an art scene, with a focus on artists who have a studio based hands-on approach to art making.
Sangt Hipolyt is a non-profit art operation located in Berlin founded by artist Burkhard Beschow. While mainly focussing on solo presentations, SH is dedicated to showing art as a collaborative practice. The invited artists are asked to produce specific work for the exhibition space. SH is located in a store unit on Bellermannstraße near the former cultural center of the "Lichtburg". The store front looks out onto the pedestrian friendly sidewalks of the once popular boulevard, now mainly residential.
